Owner Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne As the City of Fort Wayne continues to grow, so does the demand for higher education. This holds especially true for Indiana University Purdue University of Fort Wayne, also known as IPFW. With enrollment growing every year, IPFW is constantly improving and expanding to meet the demands of their students, faculty and alumni. One important attribute the campus pursued in the spring of 2000 was the addition of campus entry markers.

The entire project consisted of two forty-foot markers along the main entrance and five smaller markers, which now highlight secondary entrances. The markers are constructed of concrete, concrete masonry units, brick veneer and Indiana limestone. For the marker pictured above, the lettering within the limestone was completed at the mills and shipped in four separate pieces. Despite the enormous size and weight of the limestone, each letter lines up perfectly in formation to provide a monumental presentation to campus visitors.
