Originally named Robert E. Crosby, Inc., the company was incorporated in 1963 by Robert E. Crosby. Focusing on commercial contracting, Mr. Crosby established lifelong relationships with key business clients throughout the Fort Wayne area by offering quality work and customer satisfaction.
In 1977, Mr. Crosby’s son, Robert C. Crosby, joined the company and greatly contributed to the growth of the company through the early eighties.
In 1985, Robert C. Crosby acquired his father’s business and pursued multiple markets within Fort Wayne and throughout Northeast Indiana. The company was formally renamed Robert E. Crosby & Son, Inc.
Under Robert C. Crosby, the company maintained a close relationship with existing cliental, while pursuing new market segments such as design/build and public works projects.
With the potential to expand the company’s volume and customer base, Robert C. Crosby acquired Simerman Construction in 1998.
Focusing on the growth of Robert E. Crosby & Son, Inc. and the family heritage set forth by his father, Robert C. Crosby partnered with Devon Kirk and Michael Mattingly in January of 2001.
This new team not only steers the company into its third generation of ownership, but also broadens the company’s available services due to the experience brought forth by Mr. Kirk and Mr. Mattingly.
